How to Apply

Online Proposal Submission Instructions

The Trustees have voted to change the way of applying for a gift Please read carefully below:

Beginning in 2026, the Schrafft Charitable Trust will move from four funding cycles to two. Grants will now be awarded twice a year, in the spring and fall.

To simplify the process:

Returning grantees (funded within the last three years) may apply directly through the grant portal.

New grantees (not funded in the last three years or have never been funded by Schrafft) must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI).

The LOI allows Trustees to review eligibility and alignment with funding priorities before inviting a full proposal. If your LOI is approved, you will then be asked to submit a full application through our grant portal. At the Trustees’ discretion, interviews or site visits may also be scheduled.

All LOIs and applications are submitted through our grant portal, which follows the Philanthropy Massachusetts Common Proposal Form. We have adopted this format because it is widely used across the sector and helps make applying easier for grantee partners.

Please select the instructions that apply to your organization:

Log into the grant portal with your existing account.

If you have not logged in for a long time, you may need to use the “Forgot Password” uption to reset your access

Once logged in, select the “Returning Grantee Application” form, access the code: schrafft

You may save your work and return at any time before submitting.
